Episode Eighty Eight: “They made it for him special. It's an eighty-eight Magnum.” (Enhanced)

Episode Eighty Eight: “They made it for him special. It's an eighty-eight Magnum.” (Enhanced)

Welcome to another episode of Are You Serious? This week is a light show, since not too many shows were new that we usually report on. What we could talk about was Star Wars: Clone Wars “The Zillo Beast Strikes Back,” Glee, “Hell-O,” and a few other shows. We recorded a day early this week, but The Big Bang Theory was a repeat as well so it didn’t really matter.

In our second segment, we discuss Kick-Ass. First the movie itself is reviewed and then all the trumped up controversy surrounding the eleven year old stone old killer of a character, Hit-Girl. Some people have said that she is sexualized given her costume. Some say that no child should talk or act like that in any kind of movie. We take those criticisms on in our review.

Next segment we talk about some weird and interesting news stories. Sarah Palin, and how she doesn’t think experience is necessary, (go figure,) how Ronald Regan would most likely not be the patron saint of the GOP if he were alive today. Exactly how close we came to nuclear annihilation in 1995, and a girl that suffered nerve damage from he Wii and is now sexually aroused by the slightest vibration. Seriously.

We wrap the show up with a question posed in the forums about smoking bans and how they might affect businesses when they go into effect. Frank has never smoked and Chris smoked for 14 years and quit 2 and one half years ago, so there are some different viewpoints thrown around.

Music this week is from:

The Pretty Reckless – “Make Me Want to Die”

The Hit Girls – “Bad Reputation”

Type O Negative – “Summer Breeze”

Bear McCreary – “Kara Remembers”

Leonard Cohen – “Everybody Knows”

Concrete Blonde – “Everybody Knows”
