Episode Fifty Nine

In this episode, we talk about Glee, Community, The Office, Mad Men, Facebook, Pizza and Video Games, how our daughters will rule the world, voice mail, Outside the Cinema, Mystery Cafe, and a lot of other things.

Music this week is from:
Men at Work - "It's a Mistake"
The Bangles - "Manic Monday"
Faith No More - "Underwater Love"
Paramore - "Crushcrushcrush"
Concrete Blonde - "Everybody Knows"

The show may sound a little different to some people this week. The technical issue was identified and will be corrected for the next show. It's not a big deal, it just sounds a little more hollow than usual. I hope everyone enjoys it and comes back for more, regardless. We'll talk to you next week.

We made it a year!

Happy Birthday to us! One year ago, on September 22nd, 2008, the first episode of Are You Serious? was posted. Each and every week since then, we have posted a new show, sometimes two in a week.

Our show has evolved over time, starting with one shared USB microphone, we moved on to an older mixer and two simple microphones. From there, we acquired a good mixer and a better recording program. Simple things like filters and leveling programs, help make the show sound as good as it does today.

To help illustrate how the show has evolved over time, I have included some audio clips from our first two shows for you to hear and compare.

Early on, we were accepted into the Popsyndicate family of shows. this provided us with a network of shows and forums. We have made connections with many good people that produce many great shows. Using that as a jumping off point, we have reached out to many other great shows and met some more great people.

The greatest thing about doing the show is meeting all the people that have become listeners. We have fans all across the world and it is very humbling and awesome to talk to all of you each week.

Thank you all so much for all of your support and we welcome all new listeners with open arms - and a healthy dose of sarcasm.

This week, we want to welcome all of the new listeners that joined us last month and for this show. We are happy that you have all joined us for our sarcastic, belligerence fueled weekly rants.

My apologies to all that listen this week, Frank's microphone was a tiny bit little louder than Chris'.

This week, the topics that we discuss are Edward M. Kennedy, health care reform, the second amendment, AR-15s, Scarface and the surrounding culture, True Blood, Mad Men, Weeds, overused "quotable" movie lines, hyper-awareness, the Secret Service, Bert Stead, Christopher Broughton, The Faithful World Baptist Church and how it is missing the message of the Bible and it's leader, Pastor Steven Anderson.

We have received our first anonymous e-mail! Someone wrote in and wanted to tell us a story about their problems with the insurance industry, but wants to avoid any problems.

Music this week is from:

Scatterbrain - "Dude, Don't Call Me Dude"

Siouxsie and the Banshees - "Trust in Me"

Powerman 5000 - "Who Do You Think You Are?"
